Artist Tells Her Story by Painting Artwork on MBC Patients
By Story Half Told
Marianne Duquette Cuozzo is an artist foremost, but also a three-time cancer survivor. She shared her artwork with the models of the AnaOno New York Fashion week Cancerland show by painting empowering words on their bodies and the AnaOno lingerie they were wearing.
Marianne’s artwork was always something that the designer and founder of AnaOno, Dana Donofree, was very involved and interested in.
AnaOno lingerie is designed specifically for women who have had breast reconstruction, breast surgery, mastectomy, or are living with other conditions that cause pain or discomfort.
Taking her artwork, putting it on the models, and seeing their reactions was something extremely special to Marianne. "Not only did I tell my story, I was also able to put it on them. It was the way they responded to my artwork, and having an understanding of what their cancers are and my cancer is, it just worked."
